Keeping Up Appearances
by Elizabeth Bell
Based on JM Barrie's two-act play 'The Old Lady Shows Her Medals' (first performed 7th April 1917).
Set in the early years of the Great War, the play poignantly examines the profound and heartbreaking effects that the war had on the womenfolk who remained at home, grappling with uncertainty and fear as their loved ones were away, bearing the brunt of the conflict's toll.
After the Flags and Bands
by Alan Williams
Throughout the First World War, we delve into the lives of the women who were left behind at home. Through heartfelt letters and poignant monologues, we witness how their steadfast companionship with one another serves as a source of solace amidst the harrowing events unfolding on the distant and tumultuous Western Front.
Following the production, a donation of £1668.30 was made to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal from proceeds from the Front of House
with funding matched by Barclays Bank
