Based on the hit Paramount Pictures film by Mike White, School of Rock features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, a book by Julian Fellowes, and lyrics by Glenn Slater.
This high-energy musical follows Dewey Finn, an unsuccessful rock musician with big dreams and even bigger attitude. When he finds himself in need of cash, Dewey poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. What begins as a quick scheme soon turns into something far more exciting, as he transforms a class of high-achieving students into an electrifying rock band.
As the students discover their hidden talents and newfound confidence, Dewey hatches an ambitious plan: to enter the legendary Battle of the Bands. But with strict parents and a formidable headmistress watching closely, can they pull it off without being found out?
Featuring a thrilling mix of brand-new songs and favourites from the original film, School of Rock delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience. With show-stopping numbers like “You’re in the Band” and “Stick It to the Man”, and a rousing finale that will have audiences on their feet, this is a celebration of music, rebellion, and the joy of self-expression.

Join Us for a Fun-Filled Fundraising Evening!
As preparations get underway for our summer production of School of Rock, we're inviting friends, supporters, and members of the local community to join us for a special fundraising evening.
Producing a musical on the scale of School of Rock comes with significant costs, from performance rights and costumes to set construction, props, and technical equipment. Every penny raised will help us bring this exciting production to the stage and provide a fantastic experience for our cast, crew, and audiences.
Our fundraising evening promises plenty of entertainment, with live singing, fun games and activities and drinks available from the bar, and lots of opportunities to catch up with fellow theatre lovers. Whether you're a long-time supporter of Poulner Players or simply looking for an enjoyable night out, we'd love to see you there.
